KONA BIKES

$1,449.00
Whether you’re a seasoned dirt jumper or just learning to cruise your neighborhood pumptrack, the Shonky is the perfect weapon of choice for the jibby side of biking. A Cromoly butted frame holds a Manitou Circus Expert 100mm tapered fork that gives you just enough suspension to save your wrists. Fast-rolling Maxxis DTH 26x2.3” tires sit aboard WTB ST i30 rims. Run as a singlespeed, as all proper dirt jump bikes should be, the Shonky is a party waiting to happen. Kona Cromoly Very few materials offer as much shock absorption, durability and supple-ride characteristics as steel. We’ve never strayed from cycling’s original material and have worked tirelessly to adapt, refine and innovate Kona Cromoly framesets as rider demands continue to evolve. Internal Headset Bearing cups are actually pressed into the frame and are easily removable. An internal headset also reduces stack height, so the height of the stem and bars are more adjustable, giving the rider the best fit possible. Tapered Head Tube More girth at the bottom of the head tube better distributes shock force, prolonging the bearing life of the headset itself and eliminating brake shudder, while providing confident steering performance. The inherent strength of its triangular design also means a stronger steering position and improved balance, giving the rider more control in rough terrain. A zero-stack, tapered head tube also puts strength where the load is going—into the lower headset cup—maximizing bearing durability where it’s needed. Tubeless Compatible Rims Tubeless rims allow for tires with more puncture resistance; the ability to run lower tire pressure, which provides better tire grip on the trail; lower rolling resistance; and weight savings over traditional tube and tire systems. 12x142mm Axle 12x142mm, 12x148, and 12x157 rear axle standards provide two major advantages to the Kona rider: the 12mm diameter of the rear axle provides the rear hub and frame with a stiff interface, while the 142/148/157mm outer diameter of the hub allows the wheel to be quickly and properly positioned in the frame before the rear axle is inserted.

The Wo has been a staple in our fat bike lineup for a few years now. Its simple, dependable design has made it a favorite for fat bike aficionados everywhere. Running a wide-range Shimano Deore 11-speed drivetrain, Race Face Ride cranks, and Schwalbe Jumbo Jim 4.8" tires on tubeless-ready Sun Mulefut rims, the Wo gets you where you need to go with ease. Kona 6061 Aluminum Kona 7005 and 6061 Aluminum alloys are used extensively throughout our fleet of mountain and asphalt bicycles. A tough, durable, light alloy, both Kona 7005 and 6061 deliver fantastic, reliable performance that lasts for thousands of rides. Much of our 7005/6061 tubing is butted and/or formed, meaning the tubing’s wall thickness can be increased or decreased as well as shaped, so we can fine-tune a particular frame’s strength and ride characteristics depending on its intended application. The Woo was one of the hottest bikes on our roster last year. Its ability to carry massive amounts of gear with its three-pack cage mounts aboard its carbon disc fork made it a sand and snow bikepacking favorite. This year the Woo gets Shimano’s new Deore 410 hydraulic disc brakes. A SRAM SX/NX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain keeps the cranks turning and the 4.8” Vee tires ensure that rolling over anything is possible, and the Purple-Blue prism paint job will keep heads turning all year long! The Process 134 27.5 is the perfect gateway to the Kona dual suspension experience for riders of any size. Running on a smooth-as-butter Shimano Deore 11-speed drivetrain, it’s a reliable climber but really comes alive on the descents. RockShox suspension front and rear keeps the ride comfy and the new TranzX +RAD adjustable dropper post allows for finding the perfect seat height with ease. Beamer Independent Suspension Built to be off-the-top progressive, Beamer Independent Suspension helps the bike to stay higher in the travel and recover from hits more quickly. The Operators are instilled with what our product managers like to call "pure shock movement," whereby the shock is protected from side load. Designed to be highly tuneable and extremely durable, the Beamer IS is our version of greased lightning. 27.5"+ Wheels The benefits of the 27.5-inch wheel are simple: they roll over obstacles and track better than 26-inch wheels, but are more maneuverable and nimble than 29-inch ones.

The Process 153 27.5 is synonymous with dependability. It’s a great option for someone who wants an aggressive bike but may not want a 29" wheel. An updated frame and rocker provide more progressive geometry and all-new tubing. This year smalls feature the new TranzX +RAD dropper post in 150mm, allowing for the seatpost to go lower during descending without sacrificing any height during climbing. A SRAM Eagle NX/SX drivetrain keeps shifting smooth and provides a massive range for those steep ascents. WTB ST i30 TCS rims wrapped in Maxxis rubber keep the bike tracking smoothly on any trail. The Operator CR has proven to be a contender in downhill races all around the world. From World Cups with Connor Fearon to regional races the world over it’s unapologetically fast. The Operator CR gives you the ability to customize your setup by offering 15mm of rear wheel adjustments and 10mm of reach adjustment, so it’s easier to control the feel of the bike to get the ride you want. While we spec the bike as a 29er, you are able to run 27.5" wheels as well. Shorter or longer, 29" or 27.5", you have the power to customize your ride. Front and rear RockShox suspension, powerful SRAM Code brakes, and Maxxis Assegai 3C tires on WTB HTZ i30 TCS 2.0 rims round out this innovative and wickedly fast race machine. Kona Carbon Designed to be lightweight and built to demanding standards. Carbon fiber has long been praised for its weight and strength, but rather than chase grams, we place our efforts on the performance that is possible when the right high-modulus fibers are in the right places. Our designers work very closely with our manufacturer to ensure there is no compromise to the desired ride characteristics, durability and—finally—weight stipulations that we expect from our bikes. Integrated Headset Integrated headsets are simple, light, and effective headset systems whereby the bearing race cups are actually part of the head tube, and they are either machined away and left with the head tube, bonded (carbon), or welded in with steel or alloy. Like an internal headset, an integrated headset also reduces stack height, so the height of the stem and bars are more adjustable, giving the rider the best fit possible. Tubeless Compatible Rims Tubeless rims allow for tires with more puncture resistance, the ability to run lower tire pressure, which provides better tire grip on the trail; lower rolling resistance, and weight savings over traditional tube and tire systems. 12x157mm Axle 12x142mm, 12x148, and 12x157 rear axle standards provide two major advantages to the Kona rider: the 12mm diameter of the rear axle provides the rear hub and frame with a stiff interface, while the 142/148/157mm outer diameter of the hub allows the wheel to be quickly and properly positioned in the frame before the rear axle is inserted.
